5 signs you've stayed too long in a hotel

dive

We didn't plan to nor budget for an extra four days in London at a hotel, but honestly, it was just what our family needed. We figured our Tuesday flight was cancelled since it was the day after Hurricane Sandy. We had no idea the earliest we could leave would be four days later. It was a blessing in disguise that totally re-energized us for the next leg of our travels, but perhaps there are recognizable signs you've stayed in a hotel too long when...

1. You no longer have to give your name and room number when entering the VIP lounge.

2. You know the best restaurant to eat at in the hotel.

3. They give you free washing powder to wash your clothes. (Who does laundry in a hotel??)

4. You start going to the pool fully dressed and change in the changing room while easily recognizing the Americans who walk in already in their bathing suit. Gah! Don't they know that's like soooo improper? :)

5. You don't walk outside for 96 hours simply because there's nowhere in the hotel's vicinity to go.

Have you ever been stuck somewhere because of weather?

Well London is a nice town to be stuck in ... I remember the Christmas Holidays every other year we would spent them with my aunt in the mountians and usually we ended up being snowed in (well the snow plough man was too scared to drive the last kilometer uphill into the village) - I rather enjoyed that, I had longer Christmas holidays that way ...

Ha! I used to live in that neighbourhood, and I know what you mean about there being nowhere to go. Unless you're a plane spotter! :)

Glad you benefitted from the extra break, and I love the photo of your son diving.

Glad you have enjoyed the stay over, sounds to me like you've made great use of what got dropped into your lap! And to think they know your name :-)

I'm glad it turned out alright, even though it was unexpected! We got stuck at the hospital for a couple of days during a crazy snowstorm in Dallas. It was only 30-45 minutes from home, but we had to stay there for a couple of days! Fortunately it was before kids, though.

oh, wow! Haha! Yep, I was stuck in Atlanta with a group of teenagers for 2 days. We were on our way back from a missions trip in Jamaica and they got a snowstorm there.. being Atlanta, it shut everything down! So we spent an awful lot of time in a chaotic airport, had pizza for dinner?/lunch? at like 1 in the morning, but then had a great time the next few days exploring Atlanta a bit!
